Screening hosted by the School for Advanced Research (SAR) in Santa Fe, NM, followed by Q&A with Director Olive Talley, and archaeologists Tom Dillehay, a Senior Scholar at SAR Santa Fe, Bruce Bradley, a Colorado-based, co-principal investigator at the Gault site, and and Jon Lohse, National Manager of Cultural Resource Management Services at Terracon, in Houston. Lohse is also president of the board of The Gault Archaeological School of Research (GSAR), which manages the Gault Site.

Sunday, Nov.1 – Cuero, TX

The DeWitt County Historical Commission and Victoria College’s John W. Stormont Lecture Series present The Stones Are Speaking, followed by a Q&A with Olive Talley, the film’s Writer, Director, and Producer; Kenneth Garrett, the film’s Director of Still Photography; and Tiffany Osborne, Deputy State Archaeologist for the Texas Historical Commission. An “Artifact Petting Zoo” of regional archaeological finds will be featured in the lobby before the event, hosted by the Museum of the Coastal Bend and the Coastal Bend Archaeological Logistics Team.

In March 2025, a shorter version of the film made its broadcast debut on Texas PBS’ Made in Texas series. Check your local Texas PBS station’s schedule for upcoming broadcasts.

We were thrilled with the warm reception the film got at the Archaeology Channel International Film Festival in Eugene, OR, in May.

We won the Audience Award for Best Film and the Jury Award for Best Music. And Honorable Mentions by the jury for Best Film, Narration, Script, Public Education Value, Cinematography, and Inspiration.

Director of Photography, Matt Franklin, and his family, as well as Director of Still Photography, Kenneth Garrett, joined film Director Olive Talley for the festival.
